Irony

Sunday Evening, last, 2 hour enduro, the Captain, and the Yellow Peril as a team at PPIK, which was also the celebration of Paul Clarke`s engagement!! Started 6th, had a good kart, which gave us the lead, with Yellow Perils able assistance, with two laps to go the right front wheel collapsed, and game over for the Captain!! boohoo! Earlier in the day The Captain had made some comments to the race director at PFI about the rules of enduro racing, referring to Kart failure meaning game over for that team!! Ironic or what?

Name the Horse Competition

As the Uberkind, Speedy, steps into a new era in his life, He takes on the responsibility of a horse, a big one, this blog should help him find a name for the horse, which he can whisper, fondly to it as it kicks him, yet again in the bollocks!!!!! Suggestions so far are; Mr. Ed, and Eric, so suggest away, the prize being a free drink in the bar at Pfi, provided by the Speedichick!!

Pit Lane Babes

Trophies! Yea Baby!!

The Speedichick done good, overall first in the iron man at Pfi sunday last, and fastest lap!! Cool baby!! With over 20 racers, all in the 52 second lap times , the race could be described as the £85 procession, but with the exception of one guy, everyone had big cheesie grins, all over their faces, as they left the karts, well.. maybe the guys who normally lock out the podium, perhaps they were not as cheesie..... The Yellow Peril was up there, 3rd overall, but he had had a few beers the night before.... But Trophies, made of metal, wow!!!!!!!! Well done guys!! Inadvertantly, they played it very cool, because as they were doing the presentation, inside, we were chillin` in the sun outside, and the first the guys were aware of their podiums was when Adrian found us, and handed them their trophies, uber cool!! The Stallion is a little bruised around the ribs due to an enthusiastic battering he got when trying to defend his line, which if you mention it he will tell you in exhaustive detail, it WAS NOT MY FAULT!!!! Speedy had an heroic 5th, and thoroughly enjoyed himself, despite severe lacerations to the thumb, received while applying the blogsite decals to a helmet, I administered duck tape-aid which healed him immediately, and in fact, added to his speed. From now on I shall wrap duck tape all around my body! The sun was warm, the mood was strong, and we had a ball, so well done to the slickegos, we look forward to the next one. PS to the pillocks who believe that a truck can`t possibly overtake them, Believe it Baby!! and get out of my way!!!

Website Top Notch

The website is cool - nice one - well done. I like the profiles. I now totally feel like part of a team! As I am the newbie.

Just to let you know you can get a new domain on www.freedomain.co.nr and I've just checked and www.slickegos.co.nr is still available. I've been using .co.nr site for a while, you just have to provide a link to their website. www.amandablack.co.nr and the beauty is - its free. (Look at that - like a true professional getting mine in!)

V Festival - Just drying out!!!!!!

After changing my normal weekend activity from go-karting to live music I am now currently still drying out! I went to the V Festival in Stafford - Weston Park. There was nothing fast about it. On the Friday I was suck in a traffic jam of 8 hours - of which I was pushing the car because it wasn't worth turning the engine on! It was solid. We travel 5 miles in 8 hours! The weekend turned out to be very wet and muddy - thankfully I had my wellies. I am hoping that next weekends PFi big guns wont also be a wet one! Anyway I'm writing in response to 'OUR TEAM NEEDS A NAME'. Here are a few suggestions;-
  • The Nameless
  • The Big Guns
  • Big Guns on Tour
  • Touring Big Guns
  • Big Guns Abroad
  • 30 seconds to win
  • 4 men and a lady (4M&1L)
  • We need 2 chances!
  • Doubling chancers
  • Kids @ Heart
  • Pansy/ Pansies
  • Black, Blue and Yellow
  • The tourers
  • A Team / B Team
  • 5-2-win
  • Which is the lady!?
  • Fighting for Victory

Anyway thats just a few ideas - let me know what you think. Maybe we should go for 2 different names rather than ****1 and ****2. But let me know what you think.

Teamtalk

In Response to our apparent lack of a name, the team will be assembled at the individual event, at Pfi on Sunday, and we can get together, and discuss the merits of all things pansi-ish, after the event, in the bar. Anyone who has some ideas on getting the team fired up, and bonding( no, it doesnt mean dressing up as nurses, stallion!) then bring it on!! We have to set a target for the Race at B/more, and GOFORIT! Yea !! Top 5 should be our primary, top 10 secondary, there are a possible 35 teams, with 24 booked to date, I salivate as I write!! Sodi pro-karts, are our steeds, and I for one, vote in advance to book some practice on the day!!!! more money, I`m afraid, £40 for half hour, is it worth it? only you can decide, but all those in Favour say Yea Baby!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! There are no compulsory stops in the race, only fuel stops, so other than these we can, with two karts, and 5 drivers, do the race in 4 stops per kart!!! We are all part of the same team, and so we share the shame,AND the glory. Bring it on!! Yea Baby!!!!

UberKind!!!

What a devastating performance by the Stoner uberkind!!!!!!!! Once again his attention to detail has paid off, and the race, no, the entire weekend was his, does he have limits? Time can only give the answers! Fantastic rides by Hopkins, and Hayden, despite the fact that it was a race with little action, these guys were trying!!!! Personally, I would like to see the pack close up, as it will be fun to watch the guys push each other for supremacy, and the processional races that plague F1, not become the norm. Rossi needs to be in the mix as he often responds well to close quarters racing, a bit of rain, will do the trick. Let`s hope the Uberkind has a couple of off races, and brings the championship closer together, well done Ducati, for producing a bike of this calibre. Yea Baby!!

We need a good name for our Buckmore Team. All suggestions welcome...

Karting Challenge

This week we have managed a couple of hours karting, joining mixed experience events, all of us suffered at the hands of the other participants, with some hard barrier impacts, trying to avoid t-boning, or rear ending karters that are not paying attention!!!! It is clear that using peripheral vision is alien to many people, should it be part of the driving test?? I, personally had my obliques severely tested, and my left forearm wrenched in the last event, as drivers targeted the regular drivers for dodgem practice during the last event!!! Thanks to the copper headed one, for allowing us to participate, and he of the smooth skull for some wonderfull laps side by side, pity the kart I had was so lacking in pace!, which as the karts get older becomes more obvious, and had a big part to play in the others being able to target us. Looking forward, we anticipate Pfi, and a more experienced bunch of loonies......... Yea Baby!!

New Suit

Clearly, the uberkind, Speedy finds it amusing to mock a person, when his luck is down, however, it is completely over the top of my head!!! We await, with much anticipation the arrival of the thigh-length-beautifully polished, black leather boots!!!!!!!

Anyway, he would`nt let me take a pair of scissors to the suit, which is just mean.

As the picture above shows, being sartorially challenged, is not exclusive!

Saturday 18 August 2007

Nice Suit!!!

This is what happens when you leave ur race suit at PFI and have to borrow a suit off of someone who is.... a bit bigger than yourself!

Always at the back of my mind is how Rossi thrives on challenge, so it aint over till the fat lady sings!!!!!! Stallion, will be on the edge of his personal pool, watching, willing his hero to win, well Stoner, BRINGITON baby!!!

Looking forward to the long road trip. Got to get some good sing along CD's. 1 month today and counting!

Top Movies.

Any list of movies is subjective, however here are a few, which will stand a second viewing;
GRAND PRIX, with James Garner, even now the camera angles are good!
ALIEN, a bellyfull of bad mother, and Sig Weaver, in little knics! Yea Baby!
SEVEN, what a script!!
DIE HARD, ippykyaye, motherfucker!
THE THING, John Carpenter, at his best.
ASSAULT ON PRECINCT 13, the original , again, John Carpenter.
FRENCH KISS, The chemistry between Meg Ryan, and Kevin Klein, is magical.
LEON, awesome!
NIKITA, the original french version.
SHOUT AT THE DEVIL, again, the chemistry between Marvin, and Moore!
TERMINATOR, bad robot!
WE WERE SOLDIERS, you should`nt be ashamed of bravery.
4 WEDDINGS & A FUNERAL, lump in throat.
Anyone reading this list would , perhaps, assume that violent movies are prefferred, not so. All these movies were extremely well directed, the attention to detail is astonishing, the way scenes are lit, and the, sometimes, ground-breaking cinematic techniques employed are astonishing. Yes there are bloodfests, but they serve only to enhance the movie, not detract from it. Most of this group were done with modest budgets, Alien, for example, cost £10million, and relied heavily on using quality acting, lighting, and amazing sets to create the tense atmosphere! Leon, and Nikita were beautifully lit, with wonderfull acting from the likes of Gary oldman, and jean Reno!!!!Yea Baby!!!!!

Food for thought

The height of delusion, is sucking in your stomach when you step on the scales!

Media Excess

Have the media completely lost the plot? For months they have tried their fxxxing damndest to create bad feeling between Hamilton, and Alonso, and now the guys are starting to respond to the pressure they (the media) roll over, and call the guys `petulant, and poor sportsmen', well you would be fxxxing petulant, and a poor sportsman with the media `rod' up your ass, woud`nt you!!!!!!! Report the race, and stop trying to create tension, and mistrust, Kimi stay as you are, and give them nothing to hang you by! If this is what a journalism degree teaches you to be, an immoral, leech, who preys on others weaknesses, and foibles, twisting words, and phrases, to manipulate people, and situations, then, for my money, you(the media) are no better than the shit on my shoe!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
oooooohh, my blood was up then!

Apologies

Don`t know quite how I managed it, but during a karting session this weekend, I managed to run into a Marshall!!!! She was trying to recover a stricken Kart, and we were at walking pace, banged her Knee, when I caught her, apologies to Leighanne, hope she`s ok.

Underfloor Heating

Underfloor heating, anyone?

James Toseland

Back to back race wins, at Brands, on English soil, in front of 126,000 people, how cool is that!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Well done James Toseland. Dominant in race one, as an unlucky Troy Bayliss kissed the tarmac, after being mugged by, Toseland, Haga, and Corser, in the typical robust fashion that makes this bike series such compulsive viewing. This series makes F1 very poor value for money, with daring, exciting, overtaking, throughout the field, In fact it is downright annoying when the leader(s) open up a half second gap! All credit to Max Biaggi, who consistently gets swallowed by the pack, only to provide watching fans with a masterclass in race recovery, and gets a podium! Apologise to the `dogs borrocks' Max, show some sportsmanship it will only ,make you stronger, yea baby! Race two was equally compelling with James, and the aforementioned `dogs borrocks' keeping each other very honest, is Haga a racers dream or what!! Max, what the hell are you doing, you dozy italian, a drive through! c`mon. Best credit goes to the Haga interview after the race, irresistable rubbish, fantastic.

Barron Connor 575GTC

Topical Joke

Nigel Mansell was apalled , when his racing car, equipped with all the latest technology, came last in the race........ He was fuming, and he, and his engineers were looking at the car trying to decide what to do , on top of the car were three men, all with full makeup, wigs, and dresses, the race engineer, pointed, and said, `there`s the problem , TOO MUCH DRAG!!'
