Dark Days

This is a serious time for nail biting if your a fan of motorsport. This economic climate is taking a hefty toll on some of the biggest teams, championships, drivers and manufacturers. Heres a lil run down:

Honda - Out of F1!!
Formula 1 - Facing some seriously ugly cars in 2009
Audi - Out of ALMS and the LMS!
Seat - Out of BTCC and scaling down WTCC teams
LMS - Facing shorter races
WRC - Cost cutting imminent
SUBARU!!! - OUT OF THE WRC!!! SHOCK HORROR!!
Suzuki - Another team out of WRC
Le Mans - Cancelling the Official Test Day in May
Britcar - No more 24 Hours at Silverstone! Now a 6 hour.

theres more but this is all i can bare to put down

Wednesday 5 November 2008

Saw this on Utoob, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SOGFNENPrtQ... Thought of  Stallion, and also realised how it sums up a season where the gods of F1 did their best to make the season finale a cliffhanger, most notably at Spa.... I for one would have been very disapointed had Louie not gained the championship, mostly because of the very dubious penalties in the latter half of the season, even when he back-ended Kimi in the pits, there was a question as to how 2 cars were allowed to be parked alongside each other, when the rule is line astern, does'nt remove the idiot's mistake, but would that particular mistake, and the subsequent penalty, have occurred at all?......
Kimi could never be discounted, but I liked the fact that he was never really in a position where he  had to back up Massa, either he is much smarter than the media suggests, or lucky, I would go for smart....A lot of these dubious decisions also cost Mclaren the constructors championship, not helped by Heikki's poor race performance of late, but Mclaren, and Ferrari were close enough to suggest that penalties were a major factor, next season they will be alongside each other, so they won't need a 'spygate' to copy each others tech....
Speaking of Tech, wider front wings, much narrower rear wings, all the horrible aero bits diminished or removed, engines to last 3 races, and the KERS device, all should provide fun, and games next season, best of all......Noriyuki Haga on a Ducati(just a personal thing!)
Comments are welcome, unless they disagree with the author,LOL.....

Hard Core Fans

This weekends Formula One race in Japan will bring out the Hard core fans being up 4:30am 2moz. With the Championship at stake, Lewis on pole and Massa fighting from 5th - it should be an interesting one.

Honda is waiting for Alonso to join the team. Firstly - Why would Alonso want to go to Honda - they are towards the back of the grid. Especially as Renault have improved a lot over the last few races. Secondly - Who would be leaving Honda if he arrives. One would assume that it would be Barry who would have to retire? or a Alonso, Button swap? (Button back to renault? I doubt it!)

I found while watching the Qualy a very interesting point. 'It is so close with regards to times for grid positions'. This is true but its never really that tight during a race with overtaking.

Looking forward to the new rules of 2009. A lot of changes - esp with coverage on BBC. Brundle and Coulthard to head the line up pundits. With Brundle being the only current ITV guy to sign up for BBC. Also last race of the season will be on 15th Nov. Stretching the season even further - Nice one. Looking forward to 2009 but not the off season. I hate the off season!!

Weird too....

Go........

This strange group of men were seen on a Silverstone camp site, in a little tent village.......then they were spotted, relieving themselves under headlights........weird shit was happening....As dawn broke, the weirdness continued with much piss taking, and farting, Speedy burnt, breakfast, and had to be forcibly restrained from eating, blackened stumps, laughingly called sausage..... Stallion determined to be a fashion Queen, wore two hoodies, and a woolly hat, on the hottest day of the year...lol.lol.
The Pink Palace, or my tent, had emergency repairs, almost immediately, the pot of chili, and the 500 burgers were wolfed down in a delirium of manly excess...we took beer home, and laughed doing it...we did'nt care, slickegos at the Britcar 24....we'll do it again.

The Good The Bad And the Weird

Good = Britcar 24 Hour, what a weekend! More than anyone could eat, and not enough to drink!!! Weekend for memories.

Bad = Lewis loosing his Spa appeal. It was coming though. You cant have the FIA backing anyone but Ferrari could we. T.W.A.T.S!!

Weird = An image of Britcar!

Awesome Hamilton....

What fantastic driving from Hamilton, from 15th to 2nd, only 1.5 sec behind Vettel on his first stop, who had already pitted earlier!!! His only bad luck was the weather forecasters got it wrong...But there is no taking away how amazing his drive was, the rest of the field were in a different race, with a potential win only a rain shower away, love him or loathe him, this kind of ability is rare......Purely from a personal point of view, I am looking forward to the last 4 races with great anticipation, With both championships up for grabs, and at ALL of the remaining circuits, a strong possibility of bad weather, the drivers championship could swing between Lewis, and Felippe, either taking wins, or good points at any of the 4 tracks, but there is a precedent for the outside chance...Robert could slip under the wire, at any point, who can write off Kimi?
This is very Exciting, especially with the manufacturers trophy very close. It can only be good for the 'sport' Bring it on!!

Tuesday 9 September 2008

Broken Rules.....

The ruling is "if a driver gains an advantage by going off the track then rejoining the track, they must immediately or at a place where it is safe to do so, hand the advantage back to the driver he gained advantage off". so when lewis went round the outside to try and overtake raikkonen, at the time he left the track he was half a car behind at most, having rejoined, he gave kimi the advantage back by a full car plus a metre or two.
what the ruling does not say is how much advantage a driver should give, or indeed when they can resume racing at full throttle after giving the advantage back, therefore my friends, hamilton should never have been under investigation as he followed the ruling. the subsequent ban had nothing to do with rules being broken, as there is none written. so maclaren have every right to appeal, and, using this argument, should be reinstated as race winners. These are not my words, but Quoted from the Rulebook, there is also some interesting footage on you tube where Schumi, and de la Rosa are fighting for position, and guess what? Schumi cuts the corner, and DOES'NT give it back, with no penalty. Stallion, take note, this is not a position to defend, the Stewards have applied a penalty that has no justification according to their rules, hamilton did all the rule book required of him, and if one of the greatest drivers could get away with it, and it is on video, then how the hell could other drivers not expect the same?

PS; And did'nt Heidfeld do well......poor BMW, what a dilemma,lol..........PPS: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UnPeyzc...

Spash around at Spa???

One hopes that this weekend at Spa will be a wet race. (Especially as the forecast in England appears to be pretty bad). I have just been getting my daily F1 fix on itv.com and felt the need to express ones self! after reading the headline

'Nick Heidfeld is under pressure to prove he deserves to keep his BMW seat next year'
I know we have already had some discussion on here about the BMW team, especially after Canada. Can people not remember what Nick did with a pretty crap BMW over the last few years. He is only 14 points behind Kubica (Steve would say it should only be 10 points behind as they gave Kubica the win at Canada instead of Nick). Anyway - Im just trying to say that I think Nick is a pretty good driver. I wouldn't want to see that Spanish idot in the BMW that is for sure. (However a BMW Vettel would be pretty sweet).

Pinkegos

This is a well known 'camp' site, as you can see from the pink accessories, my jockstrap was sewn shut for the event....lol....

Ferrari... again

"If the FIA want to be fair, they should give Massa a time penalty that puts him back in 4th place which is where he would have ended up of he'd had the stop-go penalty he almost certainly would have had if Ferari hadn't gone into the stewards room with an envelope stuffed full of Euros." ( Yahoo Blog Post )

But we all know that the FIA wouldnt even dream of damaging Ferrari's championship

Thursday 14 August 2008

Im sorry, but i have just finnished watching a bloody amazing ALMS race from Road America. It was bang from the go! It had everything great racing should have: Over optomistic moves, race ending moves, heart breaks, incredible speeds, amazing class duels and the revenge of Porsche against Ferrari in GT2.

Its a shame single seater racing cant be as exciting all the time

Sated after the fix....

...of this weekends motorsport, World superbikes, British superbikes, MotoGp, and a sprinkling of the F1...Lots of controversy, in all the races, heroes, zeroes, tension, breathtaking incidents(Lorenzo's 'off' anyone) spats between riders/drivers (stoner v rossi, danica and milka, harris, and byrne...) Weather hiccups, sea frets at laguna, damp tracks in europe...proper, cojone shrivelling, RACING!! Yea Baby!

Motorsport...

....and the world economy are inextricably linked, as the economy runs down so does the sponsorship...At one time, that was'nt a problem as the tobacco guys allways had a big market, money, no problem, however, as they are no longer involved, the banking, and insurance, and telecoms have stepped in. At the moment most of the F1 rights are financed by RBS, and looking around motorsport generally, a lot of cars/overalls are carrying RBS logos, Santander, ING who are also very prominent, will probably have to curtail a good deal of their sponsorship to the lower orders, it would make sense to carry on with the blue chip sponsoship,ie. F1, but, RBS are struggling, who knows how many financial institutions are tied in with the American Fanny mae, and Freddy mac situation? who lost 50% of their value(over a £1000,000,000,000,000,s if that is how to write trillion) in ONE day!!!  Motorsport has had a Huge time of it lately, there is a new formula mooted every week, but they all require sponsorship, in one way or another, if the banks, and building societies, are less than willing to lend, this trend will grind to a halt, the amount of spare cash available for god's pastime will go on rising household bills, and other such fripperies such as food, school dinners etc...BUT I HAVE GOOD NEWS....BUCKMORE AUG 25...six hours of GLORIOUS KARTING, in a THUNDERKART......YEA BABY!

Rain, Compulsory!

Fantastic, race at Silverstone, hamster certainly showed the way, Rain definitely makes a race, and Ferrari, actually, were very helpfull. Heidfeld was cooking, with Kubica down the drain...
Donington have a 10 year contract! looking at the plans, we are gonna see a lot of carnage, and rain will make it even more....bring it on...the 2009 rules should help at this track....Never underestimate the moneymen in F1, there is a hidden agenda here, and the mystery backer for Donington may surprise us..Silverstone did'nt seem that far away from their demands...watch this space....

Sunday 6 July 2008

What a GP!!

I think we might have just seen the best GP of the season. Silverstone delivering a great action packed raced and well marked 60 years. I find it a great shame that at a major occassion they can announce that Silverstone will be losing the race in 2010. I find the decision an odd one. Firstly I am glad that we will still have a GB GP! Secondly Donington is my Number 1 circuit. It was the first one I ever went to and the first one being on track. A great circuit layout that never fails to give entertaining races in whatever you are watching............. But they have so much work to do to get it up to modern F1 standard. Count me in for a ticket in 2010.

Zeroes to Hero

AAAAAAARRRRGGHH!!!!!, my next copy of Ferrari weekly will arrive with the vomit-inducing eulogies from a sycophant media, puke! spit! gargle with cyanide!!!At least we can all agree that Magny-cors was yet another yawnfest, and the latest of louie`s errors was, of course, punished whilst others were untroubled by the stewards.....Another of Britains heroes had a shite weekend, I write of the James, sliding off, unassisted, in the first corner of the British MotoGP, he had the courage to get back on , and endure the humiliation of being lapped, in what was a, fairly dull race........BUT, But, but......a 15 year old BRITISH rider, with less than 20 moto gp`s, in the 125cc class, under his belt, won his FIRST Gp on his BRITISH debut...how fucking cool is that!!!!!???? Scot Redding...Go Baby!!

Sunday 15 June 2008

Wow! Thats why Le Mans IS the dogs B********!!

At 1:05 am on Sun 15th, i checked the live timings and after over 10 Hrs of racing Audi was beating Peugeot by less than a lap. Aston Martin was beating Corrvette by around 40secs and the two LMP2 Porsches were inseperable.

By the end of the race...

All the above class battles were still raging. AMR had pulled just over a lap lead over the "vettes" to defend their GT1 Crown and the VM Porsche took the spoils in LMP2.

But finally against all the odds, through a full on assault from Peugeot, from rain to shine, night and day, after years of coming so close, Allan McNish has finally got to stand on the top step of the podium again. And Audi continue to claim Le Mans as their own, but it is most likely to be the R10's last time at the circuit as Audi move onto closed prototypes to remain competetive.

Overall a cracking race that will go down as a great battle between two great cars.

The only bad thing, is that for two years in a row, ive missed the race live on tv and ive not been since 04. Im getting serious withdrawl symptoms, so im going next year, even if it kills me!!

MBE,s

The Queen, bless'er has finally bestowed honour on one of Britains least talked about heroes, I write, of course about the current, and(in this generation of the series) only World Touring car Champion, Andy Priaulx....well done that man!!, Another British satisfaction , today, was Alan Mcnish in the Winning car at Le Man, it was looking to be totally dominated by the Peugeots, but rain, and some superb driving, played it,s part, and no delays in the pitstops ensured a thrilling race....The Dogs borrocks had a double in the latest round of World Superbikes, and Shaky Byrne came from 14th to 1st in the 2nd race of the British Superbikes, enthralling....
Gonna see if there are spaces available at PFI, sunday next, been a while....I replaced a leaky tap today...made a friend happy... wonder if the Queen reads this......

'Pole' position3

Your analysis , of what bmw COULD do in Montreal is, essentially correct, this season is only a third of the way in, so what they DID do was uneccessary, either driver would have benefited from the result. Watch it again, the race was Nick's to LOSE, he had track position, and a gap that is HUGE by F1 standards, safety cars are allways possible, handy excuses if your team does'nt do so well. BUT that was,nt the case, assuming no other problems,(and there were none, other than the TEAM itself) it was Heidfelds race. He is now a demoralised member of a top team, along with his side of the garage, yes, I know Kubicas good, but so is Heidfeld, who was lauded by the media, and the teams for his abilities, especially when Kubica was inconsistent!!
On a personal note, I would like to see BMW tumble, as a company that was the final nail in 1000s of Rover jobs, and an infrastructure that was worth 1000s more, BRITISH jobs< Imight add, then yea, Bring it on!! Iknow that they were not responsible for Rovers problems, but they did,nt need to buy the company, when they knew, in advance, it was a lemon....
YEA BABY!

Lewis launches

http://www.gomotorsport.net/
to get people more interested in motorsport. Thought everyone should give it a look!!

Bring it on!

Is n't this great!! Love it. Its what blogging is all about. Nice one. Firstly I now see where you are coming from with regards to Heidfeld but ......... All season Heidfeld has gone for the safer race plan. kubica has gone for the more aggressive one. I think BMW played it safe with Heidfeld (like they always seem to do). If when Kubica was making the gap a safety car had come out (more than likely) that would have been it - win over. If Heidfeld had gone for a shorter pit stop to put him into the race for the win - an additional safety car would have blown either of there chances for the win.

I do agree that Davison has been wasted. If I was a manager I would have snapped him up by now. Heidfeld might be being out shadowed at the moment. But he has already proven that he is a capable driver. Its him that has put the most effort into BMW in terms of driver..... He will shine again.

Hammy has stated that this hasn't blown his Championship - we will have to wait and see. Schoolboy error really. We do have to note at this point some of Schumi's schoolboy error's - Monaco '06 springs to mind for parking fines!!!

Monday 9 June 2008

'Pole' position2

Sorry you don't understand, however, what you believe is your choice... Heidfeld, and his engineer obviously felt that it was worth the effort to pull out enough time to absorb a pitstop, and still be in front, only to have the team refusing to allow a change of strategy, that would have allowed this side of the garage the win, a win that was just as important to Heidfeld as to Kubica!!
If Heidfelds stop had been 4-5 secs faster he would have had to do another stop as did Kubica, with the advantage of track position, and perhaps traffic/deteriorating track conditions, he had a FAIR chance of winning, IF Kubica`was the faster man then WE the FANS would have had a thrilling race to the flag, instead of the yawnfest it became!! And since when was it not possible to change strategy mid-race?? Contracts? F1??LOL,LOL.Nick's face on the podium spoke a thousand words! Much like Barrichello when he was winning against Schumi, and he had to let him past, the only protest he had was that he did it on the finishing line!!You may think Kubicas face does'nt fit, but, NOT TRUE, One of the most gifted of drivers is still on the sidelines...I mention A.Davidson... not my choice, but still a wasted talent. Read Mark Hughes article in Autosport, on this man...enlightening. Hamster dropped a bollock yesterday, or it would have been his race, Kubica was gifted the race by team BMW, Heidfeld was hung out to dry, yes it's a one, two, but in the wrong order, this is'nt new, but is it racing? Should Kubica win this championship, i hope he reflects on yesterdays team vote of confidence, personally...I hope not..And as for lamping somebody...Power to you Nick for not splattering theisson's teeth all over the podium!!

Sunday 8 June 2008

Just to Quote!!!

"Forecasted for this weekends Canadian GP. My money is on Kubia.
Win for Kubia. You heard it here first!
Just think what it would do to the Championship. "
Just wanted to quote what I wrote before the weekend. Got the rain bit wrong but should have put some money on Kubica! What a great Championship battle.

???

I dont understand your comments?? Heidfeld was on a different strategy to Kubica and hence why his pit stop was longer because he only had 1. Kubica had two. I dont beleive BMW gave kubica the win. He had to work bloody hard to pull out the gap to ensure that he came out in front of Heidfeld. True Heidfeld let him past but they were on a different game plan. BMW wouldn't have made Heidfeld's pit stop longer on purpose because at that moment in time they could not be sure what the race result would have been.

Dont forget it is Heidfeld that is under contract for next year, while Kubica's finishes this year. Personally Kubica has had a fab season so far and deserves it. I know Heidfeld has done a lot of work to develop the car over the years but he has been out performed to date this year and therefore Kubica got the win. The nice thing about it is Kubica's face does not fit into F1. What a great achievement for Poland. (Pitty they lost to Germany in the football! but they beat Heideld the German on the track).

Kubica for World Champion - I say again!!!! Well he is leading now.

P.S I was impressed that Kimi didnt lamp Hammy!

"Pole" position

Well, it`s nothing NEW in motorsport, but the way that bmw, said `we prefer you Robert, to you Nick' makes my stomach churn...there was absolutely no need to give Heidfeld a long stop, so that he came out HEAVY, just in front of his team mate, 5 secs less, and he would have consolidated his LEAD, in this race, and very likely won. He did all that was required of him, to maintain a good lead, only for his team to deliberately, take it away from him, SHAME on you, BMW, just another good reason not to buy your product!! Once again we are forced to witness the FARCE that is F1, even the commentators get in on the act!! How is it possible to praise a team when they are so obvious? Are we heading once again into a championship that is MANIPULATED, when will we ever see a SPORTING event?
LUCKILY, I have the answer, MOTOGP!! `specially the 125cc class, proper do, or die!! The PLUS side to today was when the hamster, and Kimi, had no hard words, and louie, kind of admitted his mistake, more EMBARASSING, than painfull....COULTHARD had a day to remember as he kept out of trouble, and lady luck, finally went his way....Finally, NICK`S face said it all today, and should he lose his seat, then it is just another reason, that the manufacturers, should , at all costs, not be allowed to control this sport!!
Yea Baby!

More Rain

Forecasted for this weekends Canadian GP. My money is on Kubia. Win for Kubia. You heard it here first! Just think what it would do to the Championship.

Friday 30 May 2008

Kubica for World Champion??

Being a true Brit of course I want Hamilton to win this years’ World Crown but wouldn’t it be ironic if his peer and childhood racing friend Kubica got it first!

I say this because this is the current table;-

1. Lewis Hamilton - McLaren Mercedes - 38
2. Kimi Raikkonen - Ferrari - 35
3. Felipe Massa - Ferrari - 34
4. Robert Kubica - BMW Sauber -32
5. Nick Heidfeld - BMW Sauber - 20

Kubica is only 6 points behind Lewis and we all know how quickly things can turn around. Who would have thought that Lewis would now be 3 points ahead of Raikkonen??

“Could Kubica be the first ever F1 World Champion without ever winning a race???”

With the likes of Raikkonen and Massa taking points off each other, and currently Kubica being very consistently in the points. Could this really happen? I guess we’ll have to wait and see.

Just also wanted to remind you all off Kubica’s amazing crash last year at Canadian. A few pictures to remember.

Soggy, or what?

As forecast the B`more SIX hour was wet, there were RIVERS of water running down the track!!, DEEP puddles on the major corners, we are talking WET here, Cap did the first sighting laps in quallie, followed by SPEEDICHICK, both hit the puddle, SPLODOUSH!! anything outside the condom was laundry...we were in the last 2 stints...4hours away...spish,ssplosh, Spit, two fists, and the condom, fared no better, it was bouncing down, with a strong wind to boot!!!
Spit did the first stint, and within 6 laps the brake spring was BUST, (the kart to have today was a thunderkart, suited the conditions) and we had another kart, we quallied 2nd in class, and dropped back, SPIT was heroic, and pulled us back into contention, the conditions suiting his driving...CONDOM had a couple of spins, in these conditions, it was inevitable, a black flag was shown for a mystery infringement, but others were in the same boat(on the same lake too!!)TWOFISTS had a bad stomach, but charged into the fray....ANOTHER brake spring bust, ANOTHER kart, more time lost.....The CAP was determined just to stay on track..the conditions had improved from monsoon to skidpan..two spins, and a WARNING..But little time lost, and we were in the top 5 in class, 10th overall...SPEEDICHICK was so fired up by now that she forgot to adjust the pedals...but she still drove like a ponytail on fire, so much so that despite developing cramp(wuss) we ended the race 2nd in class on the same lap as the winner, and 8th overall...without the breakdowns, it would have been a WIN, and probably higher overall....WELLDONEGUYS!!! Buckmore, WE`LL be back!!
Yea Baby!

Good results team Slick ego's. Unfortunately a few technical problems prevailed first position but that is Endurance racing. This person was last seen SHIVERING at the Tockwith Pro-Am outdoor Kart circuit, where a trio of SLICKEGOS arrived to take part in a 2 hour enduro....this is a primitive venue,REMINISCENT of the early days of outdoor karting...a friendly bunch, helpfull..WE had 2 karts as there were plenty of large teams, so fewer karts...We had 15mins QUALI, of which Speedy was greedy.... 1st/2nd on the grid..Speedichick,Speedy started...team 6 had an aggressive driver, whose race strategy was bumpitybump!! he was quick we were quicker...the black flag tally for team 6 became impressive...we had no transponder on kart1..we had to change..3 times..it was clear we had no competitors bar team 6, they had no cool...IT was tricky to work out the stints, thanks to FAGASH for that job....the Cap almost crashed..giggling helplessly as a particularly ambitious move by team 6 gained him another black flag,AND a lost lap in the barrier....we took 1st, and 2nd, and were presented with the worlds tiniest trophies!!

It was fun...Thanks to the guys for travelling so far.....Yea Baby!

i chose...

I have chosen to Leeds this weekend and not go to Silverstone for the first race of the FIA GT Championship. That means i have chosen to go karting with mates rather than go and see 40+ gorgeous world class GT cars such as Aston Martin's, Corvette's and saleens ( etc ), driven by some of the best drivers in the world. So Stallion, get off your ass and go karting!

?? Could Lewis??

Could Lewis be one of these amazing racing drivers that never wins a world championship??

Someone would say that Schumacher’s Championship were down to skill yes but a lot was luck being nearly always on his side. Our old rookie Lewis got so close to the championship last year – Was it is best shot in his career?? Time will tell. Does he have the luck to become statistically one of F1 greats? The response was “I have plenty of years to get the crown” (however losing the title of first rookie to win it!) but it was certainly a grand opportunity missed. It does appear that Lewis will have a racing seat for life with McLaren!

As a massive F1 fan (and not a Lewis fan) I am now looking at this season with great promise. It appears that we may at last have a wider championship battle on our hands. And it is at this point that hands have to come together to applaud BMW’s effort. What a great job to date. As a Lewis fan it doesn’t make for better viewing. Another 2 drivers to battle it out with and from the last race it looks like BMW could be now racing Ferrari rather than McLaren L !! Anyone want a Kubica vs Heidfield bet??

P.S Sorry for long silence!!

Karting...MotoGp...DTM....

....tried my hand at karting yesterday...hopeless...had a newbie to PPIK all over me, he was happy...they are getting some new TYRES, soon....pleeeasse!.....On a happier note, the MOTOGP had a fantastic start....Rossi to the front...game on!..Lorenzo, Pedrosa, Dovitioso, they did`nt care that he is a multiple world champ...with little micro showers throughout the race making the racing very exciting, a GOBSMACKIN` move by Lorenzo, in a place thought impossible by others, upset Rossi`s rythm...Lorenzo to the front! STALLION went quiet, Pedrosa to second.....The James had a solid race to 7th, overtaking UBERKIND, Stoner, who had some loose bits on his fairing, Stoner got 6th, after regaining his composure....Everyone was wrapped up, against a cold ESTORIL yesterday something to do with a little lady in the PACIFIC, called LA NINA....

The DTM, on the other hand looked quite Balmy, although it was almost an AUDI clean sweep....again a race that was thrilling initially.....but had a predictable end...GARY PAFFET made some good moves, however, he is in an old car...DI RESTA, on the other hand is in a new car, and BAD pitstop work plunged him from a potential podium...Mercedes will have an AUTOPSY `bout that.... back to PPIK... got a little bit better, in another kart...but,...37lbs per tyre?????..billiard balls, and bruises...Yea Baby!

Estoril....

...the JAMES will receive his new engine for this weeks MOTOGP at Estoril...pneumatic valves are all the rage, apparently.... The form he has shown, so far in this, his rookie season, has been astonishing for a rider who has not SERVED his time in the lower classes of motoGp. This engine is on a par with the factory stuff that ROSSI is using, so will this power boost place TOSELAND on the podiums? Watch this space.......He also came under fire for his robust overtaking...well who woke up the WUSSES?? have`nt they read the signs, all over every circuit, and disclaimer, in the world??.....MOTORSPORT IS FUCKING DANGEROUS!!!!..why the hell would you do it otherwise?
Speaking of wusses, HAMILTON, is a bit worried about sharks, when he goes diving, well Hammy, my boy, STAYOUTOFMYBLOODYOCEAN!!!...And focus on the driving.....`cos the media, are at it again... heroes to ZEROS in two issues of AUTOSPORT, it`s no wonder that Kimi allways looks like he`s swallowed a wasp.......The Bahrain Race was, predictably, dull, the spectators in handfulls, draped over the 100`s of spare seats, Max was absent, probably because he might have ended his tenure with the SAKHIR!!....Yea Baby!

Weekend Mayhem......

.....As you are aware , the weather was slightly inclement in the south of England, forcing the cancellation of the opening round of BRITISH Superbikes, at Brands Hatch,.... As I hear you all shout Nooooooooo! in horror, the day was saved by top action from WORLD Superbikes from sunny Valencia, If you have`nt seen the footage of the end of race one.....THEN you should...It proves beyond a shadow of a doubt that there are MEN in Spain...speaking of PANSIES, our Looie appeared to be brake-tested at Sakhir, adding to his interesting weekend, the guy is a saint...allways a good word...well the FUCKING spaniard is an ass!!

The Le mans series showed that, it is`nt all about the manufacturers, which, I personally, think makes it good RACING...I like underdogs, so when the `dogs BORROCKS' won the 2nd race at Valencia, it was so coooool...the guy falls off at 150mph, and they rebuild him, and ...he wins..Hero. World TOURING cars had another play in the SOUTH Americas `Mehico'....it was a `Seat' fest, using diesels, the RWD cars had`nt a chance....Andy PRIAULX got one point in an exciting second race, where 8th place could be considered a victory...especially on a surface which reminded me of PPIK on Sat night!!! I end this monologue by saying..FERRARI you did me proud!! I tipped Massa, and Ferrari for my fantasyF1, which boosted me to the top of my group, and 400something in the overall standings!!(applause!!!)there are no prizes in this fantasy, but hey, I have others.....

Yea Baby!!

Its All Kicking Off...

This weekend we have the much antisipated (??) start of the LMS, which has the new threat of invasion from Peugeot. But dont fear as the germans are here!!, embodied in Audi. This new diesel shootout will surely be a straight 2 horse race for the title, leaving all the other normal fuelled prototypes with the classifaction as "also ran".

As for the GT's, a lot more exciting! Well in GT2 at least. Team Modena with their aston are Autosports favourite to win the GT1 crown leaving Corvette with 2nd, 3rd etc. GT2 Should be compettetive with Porsche determined to regain world domination from Ferrari on both sides of the Atlantic.

LMS - Barcelona, ESP
ALMS - St Petersburg, USA

Three Sisters

Why dont we have a race at three sisters. There twin engine karts!!!!
For the 2 hour race plus 30min practice and qualifying its £180 per team i think.
However i think thats just the club track for the bigger track its £240 for 2.5 hour race
and theres loads of different types of endurance so take a look

200

200 Posts on the blog and what a landmark this is ! Everyone has done a great job with the up keep of the blog and even more so with orgonising events for the slick egos to race in.

heres to another 200 , just as good if not better than the first!

David Leslie Killed 1953 - 2008 / Richard Loyld 1945 - 2008

Sadly another of Britains motorsport greats has been tragically killed in an air crash in Farnborough, Kent, along with current Apex Motorsport Boss, Richard Lloyd, who he was currently driving for.
Richard Lloyd was also killed in the crash and was the Team Principal of Apex Motorsport who was running the Jaguar XKR in the FIA GT3 Championship.

Obviously our first thought is for the families and friends of everyone who was killed in the plane crash and all the team members of Apex Motorsport who will be deeply saddened by the incident.

Three women walking down the street are stopped by a man doing a survey. He asks, "Ladies, would you mind telling me how you know if you've had a good night out?"
The first replies, "I come home, get into bed and if I lay there and tingle all over, I know that I had a good night."
The second one replies, "I come home, have a shower and a glass of wine, get into bed, and if I tingle all over, I know it was a good night."
The third one turns around and says, "If I get home, rip off me knickers, throw them against the wall, and they stick, then I know it was a good night!"

Joke 1

This Blog needs a bit of excitement, bit of a change etc, so here's my contribution:

A man walks up to a woman in his office and tells her that her hair smells nice.

The woman immediately goes into her supervisor's office and tells him that she wants to file a sexual harassment suit and explains why.

The supervisor is puzzled by this and says, "What's wrong with the coworker telling you your hair smells nice?"

The woman replies, "He's a midget.

Not the best joke but it'l bring a smile to your face

Ranting!!! We need more of it !!!!

Its 11.10 on Thursday the 27 of march, (well it was when I was moaning bout this) after a somewhat boring day I find myself craving for a rant about something and i‘m slowly coming to a decision that WILL astound some of you , and I’m only slowly coming , formulating if you will , this opinion, as my thoughts on this matter may change and honestly I hope it does as at the moment I usually jump the gun and come to regret it.
Any way enough as some of u illiterate hounds would call waffle, where as some of us call it, a preamble.
On to a more pressing issue that of direct action and honestly we cannot disagree with a certain Irishman going by the name of E. Jordan at all , its his road and he can do as he wishes with it and if he chooses to put concrete blocks down then that is ok. Inconsiderate people really get on my nerves and at the moment its one thing after another.
Firstly , hidden charges !!! I ask you , when you order a package and pay a delivery charge do you expect then to be black mailed for you package as for some unknown reason another company namely that of parcel force have their dirty little mutts on it and are charging me for them having abducted my package and requesting that I pay for the customs tax and vat immediately , is this not an issue I should a) be tacking up with HM customs and revenue and b) an issue I should be taking up with the company which I payed to deliver my package USPS. After reading the small print on the website which I do not normally do , It does not say anywhere that I will be subject to blackmail, or a change of delivery services.

Just needed to get that off my chest. However on to more pressing issues

Today is a day for motor sport and we should all be couch potatoes ( till 2 30 ) when we shall be racing ourselves.
The start of the btcc today!!! What more need I say to that. Apart from go Giovanardi!!! Moto gp from jerez , more scintillating action from the 2 wheeled world. Forza Rossi!!!!

President Stallion

I must deny all rumour of any associations with formula one teams as this is simply untrue and I would not want this blog to be in a state of ill repute by being dragged into anymore scandal.
Secondly I have had news this morning of speedy taking part in a 2 hour endurance race today and we must wish him the best of luck. An endorsement from the next president (I hope) will serve him well.
(I like the role of President even if it is only a temporary role for the moment.)

The idea of a President for the blog is a fantastic one and we must applaud the captain for his idea. However some ground rules must be laid down for that of role of the President.
1) The President must check the blog daily.
2) The President must approve new members who wish to post on the blog.
3) The Presidents tenure is for yet to be decided but I am putting forward for a 2 month session for each President.

Any more suggestions will be welcome. As a constitution will be a necessity.

I am now here declaring my intentions to be the first President of the blog.
Due to the complications of organising an election im am proposing that any objections must be voiced within 48 hours of my declaration, any questions will be answered and any disconcerting voices will be silenced.

With great power comes great responsibility!

Stallion for President....

.....there is a vacancy for for the Blogrant Society Presidency, and I feel that we at Slickegos would be well served to propose the Stallion for this much sought after post.
Although currently lying down in a darkened room with a plate of aspirin, he will soon be back on the electoral trail, campaigning for your support. It is rumoured that he, and jean, and micheal have a promising relationship, and a "sudden" windfall is coming his way, so fans of the Stallion, please make yourselves known, and any contributions will be welcome....

Hypocrites - all of you!

Hypocrites
Weelllllll where do I begin I have been accused of jumping the gun and not taking all the facts into account ( and i happily admit that i do all the time , wat can i say i enjoy a good rant as you can see ) Well we have 2 people here namely that of speedy and the captain who are doing exactly this. Schumacher is joined in the management of the specially-created Motor Sport Safety Development Fund by FIA president Max Mosley, American federation president Nick Craw (who represents national sporting authorities), former Ferrari boss Jean Todt and Mercedes' motorsport chief Norbert Haug. You are happy to concentrate on that of the Ferrari presence but ignore that of Norbert Haug, and secondly there has already been a statement saying that the intention is to disperse the Fund over the next five years and to concentrate activities on a Young Driver Safety Scholarship Programme, an Officials Skills Safety Training Programme and a Facility Safety Improvement Consultancy Programme," said an FIA statement. Well this rules out any bias from Schumacher as he has been an advocator of safety in formula 1 for years, if he had been a mclaren driver in this situation then everyone would be screaming bias!!! They are going to give the money back but under the table. so you can have no complaints about that. Finally the last nail in the coffin, the 2 biggest teams are being represented by their respective most respected senior and most experienced employees. Can you argue with this no. If the situation had been reversed then this still would be the case.

And one final note, there is sooooo much publicity for this scandal and subsequent fine that only someone like Stepney or Coughlan would be stupid enough to try and do under the table dealings again.

CASE CLOSED.

Post 190.....

....is a quickie, Max Mosely has consistently shown extraordinary antipathy toward the Mclaren team, and bent over backwards for Ferrari over the years, but now they take the piss completely!!! Jean Todt would be a disaster for the whole pitlane,to replace Mosely, let alone Mclaren, and to give him, and Schumi, the task of spending the Mclaren fine, is deeply insulting to the motorsport world! What The FIA needs is a guy who is elected to office, and who has no bias toward any of the teams, and then , perhaps we will see some fair play for everyone....Eddie Jordan Concrete Supplies??.......

Stallion..GP..Ppik.....

Anyone reading this blog, would be concerned for the well-being of the Stallion, after his mega rant, which was posted a few days ago, good news, after retiring to his bed for some much needed rest, and recuperation, he is on the mend....alas the pain of the gravel trap excursion by brazil`s answer to the `milky bar kid' in the Malaysian Gp, has brought on a relapse, and even the success of the `forgettable fin' Kimi, is doing little to revive him.....This may help....or not...
The BBC had F1 for over 20 yrs before Itv, nobody wanted the commercial rights, in the `7o`s, hence Ecclestone bought them for a rumoured £20,000, and became the demi-god of F1. As sound marketing, and a general growth in the world`s economy, not to mention the HUGE advances in media technology, increased F1`s popularity, to the point you see today, Itv looked at the BBC`s sport portfolio with envy, in `96 when the BBC`s funding faltered, they obtained the rights.....Now they`ve had enough, and despite having a generally good set-up, the pay back as a commercial station, is not enough to warrant keeping it. Now, if the BBC did`nt get it, then the choice would be satellite, and then it would become pay-per-view, the audience would be less, and even more pressure would be applied to drop it, by the relevant channel. The last option would be via broadband, and as that is already happening with all things media, you can see where we will be in a few years.... for you Stallion, I write this, hoping you will feel better, or you can visit the website...... sobyourheartout.com......and there was a little 90 min enduro last night, at ppik, the cap was teamed up with Paul Clarke, the current lapmeister, at pole... a first for me... started 2nd.. the cap was first out, it soon became apparent that the kart had problems, mainly, no grip, probable cause, confirmed at the end, over-inflated tyres....Paul did his best... the cap came off in 5th...dropped to 6th, on the changeover... we just got back to 5th.. Paul is hot in a kart but he had a frustrating time with this one, it would seem that the fundamentals still need work at Ppik!!!!............

Dodgy dealing again!!!

I woke this morning to find out that yet again there has been under the table dodgy dealings in f1 however this time it "ironically" is the person who has been discouraging them. Our old friend Bernie.
The pattern seems to be emerging that while a German, a Finn and a Spaniard were winning world titles its fine for ITV to have the viewing rights, how ever once an Englishman becomes successful BBC suddenly get the rights back.
It seems for some unknown reason Bernie and the BBC have come to a deal to see formula one back on a channel so closely linked to the government and all things English. (For example prime ministers question time at the heart of the government while also having very strong links with the royal family) It seems to me that due to the immediate success of a certain Lewis Hamilton the f1 Dictator and the BBC have come to the decision that for the greater good of the publics' viewing. However will this be the best option?

The ITV f1 website is one of the best around offering features such as photos, key interviews and now highlights. With the BBC according to Bernie having an equally sports website its motor sport sections is something to be desired. We can see that channel 4 do not have the Italian football rights but do have one of the best football websites around for it. Even though at the moment the BBC do not have the rights do they have such a service. NO. Does this show a keen interest in formula1 NO is the answer again. As a keen sports fan personally I prefer coverage of ITV even though there are adverts the viewing seems to provide a more wholesome and fan friendly experience. Just because Lewis Hamilton has had such a successful start to his career should the viewer loose out! Again I think the answer is NO. However I must say that this is the opinion of a keen sports fan and there may be others who disagree but I do not think you can argue with the words of a legend. Murray Walker.

The legend that is Murray Walker said earlier today "I'm absolutely flabbergasted - I was lying in bed listening to the news this morning and I almost fell out of bed when I heard it. It's an amazing development because I think ITV did and do a superb job, and I think there is more to this than meets the eye." This coming from a man who is a legend from the commentating world and who had commentated for both the BBC and subsequently for ITV after the change in 96.

All I can say is that with the loss of the f1 television rights I hope ITV continue their service of such a good website and do not become like the BBC and drop all interest.

Wealthywoman.com

....Needs me!! As the Heather is now available, with a ton of cash she has managed to lever out of Paulie`s petty cash box, it is clear she will need some assistance in spending the spondooley`s, and here am I, the perfect match, interested in all things blonde, and very good with my hands.

She would get my undying love, and spot-on maintenance on the wooden leg, and I would get the track day car of my dreams!! It`s so fair I can`t believe I am having to write begging letters, (only 36 so far)What`s more I always have a small tool kit with me, just in case she has a mishap, climbing into her latest Gucci bikini. It is probably an oversight on her part, and already I forgive her(a stripped out Aston db9 please)...color? you choose baby! No, no, massaging the stump is no problem....Yes...yes I will wear the mankini....color? you choo.....

The Show....

......must go on...and the southern hemisphere looked very inviting to a winter-bound audience, in Europe!! Speedy, and the Cap were fighting sleep, after driving from B`more in horrendous conditions, to be awake for the Ozz GP.... The Cap succeeded, and eventually so did Speedy...
(Quick note from the Cap, anyone interested should check out the B`more race report for Dec 29th)

It was an unpredictable grid line up, apart from Hamilton at the front, throughout the race, it was an unpredictable carve-up, behind, you`ve guessed it..Hamilton....Only 7 finished....brilliant producer, focused on the action..........Massa, wild child..You`ve upset Coulthard.....Rubens, Rubens, good race, unlucky....pansy, very fortunate.....Rosberg, wunderkind......Heidfeld, what a dark horse!...Welcome Nakajima, Williams will be delighted.....Glock... AAAArggghh!!!And as for Kimi, baby, WHAT is going on???? Lots of collatteral damage today, but a great crowd pleaser....only a one-man procession....with lots of titillating action behind, particularly enjoyed the sweet o`taking by Heikki, on pansy....only to hit the pit limiter.......whaaattt!!..you have to love the honesty of the man!!

Sepang...a week away...another early start...bring it on!!! oh Yea Baby!!

Endurance Rulz!!

As a self confessed endurance freak, last nights Buckmore 3 Hour is as close as you could get to extreme racing. Sort of. We had constant rain for entirity of the race, complete darkness if not for a few spotlights and a grid of 35 opponents!!! Couldnt ask for a much harder race.

4 Kart changes, lack of visibilty, spinning karts all added to the races appeal. I went out in second place for the end of the race and was gunning past everyone... until... coming out of turn 2 i got on the power to early, and the kart just aquaplaned off backwards into the marshalls post on the right of the track. My first thought was OUCH! and then ARRGGHHH the RACE!!!!

Thankfully the marshalls got me out sharpish and i resumed on regaining first and overtaking everyone who had passed me while stranded. Overall - One Bloody Good Race!!!

Team Slick Egos 1st, 2nd, 5th

Speedy

Two Steps....

...to success!!
As we sat with our backs to the windows of the Buckmore briefing suite, the RAIN, promised all week, began what would become a constant for the 180 minutes of the Buckmore NIGHT enduro,
We groaned inside, as only Spit had ever raced in the rain here, two fists, and condom, had NEVER raced here!!!!
However, once on track we found that B`more, in the rain is very forgiving.....JOY, JOY...the tricky bit was the other 33 karts.... We had booked 3 karts, with 7 drivers, rotating, , and we qualified, well, at the front, with all 3karts.
Spit was AWESOME in the wet, with the Peril, and Two fists doing the first stints, followed by the Cap, Speedy, Stallion, and CONDOM, and so on......the strategy called for 4stops for 2 karts, and 3 for the 3rd, and it was a good one XCEPT for the 3 black flags, and the changing of one of the karts 3 times!!, and another, once. it was almost impossible not to overtake under yellows, as the vis, or lack of it, made it difficult to avoid the spinners, and see the FLAGS! the MANTRA `don`t ARGUE with the marshalls' was uppermost in everybody`s minds, and we stuck to the plan , and had the lead early on with 2 karts, BUT the 3rd had too much work to do, and despite being dead last at one point, climbed back to 5th in the end....Our fastest lap was 1min 04sec....
Everyone was bubbling with excitement as we neared the end, and the Cap had to signal the guys on the final stint to CALM down, when CONDOM went into a spin, with 4mins to go, SPEEDY had an off, and the STALLION, was fighting everyone he could get near! It was FUN, and the desire to do it again is strong, PFI is quite hard in the rain, this was just AWESOME, and the presentation to the extended SLICKEGOS team was full, and the applause very satisfying...
This was a good race, and the TEAM was disciplined, and as slick as the very tricky conditions would allow, well done, SLICKEGOS!!!!!
Buckmore will post a report on their website soon, so look out for it.
I`m sleepy now as it is about 24hrs since I last slept....Yea Baby!

Buckmore

Well we bit the bullet a few months ago, and signed up for yet another night race at Buckmore, this is a little going away bash for the `Peril, as he has another assignment for queen, and country in the badlands of Afghanistan, we all wish him luck.
This event we are using THREE karts, with seven drivers, we hope to go one better, at least, and have a foot on the second step of the podium, perhaps a shot at the top step.....the weather could be a major player in this as the forecast is wet, no fears for the slickegos, but the expected carnage could be interesting......As usual the roadtrip could be fun, with the help of the Tomtom we should get well and truly lost, however the good news is that we shall be lost as a team.
Strategy is also key here, we need to keep stops to a minimum despite the weather, so everyone stock up on energy food....fried eggs, bacon, greasy sausages, that sort of thing......
We will follow the race with a leisurely drive home with a view to watching the Ozz GP as it happens.....Yea Baby!!

Tuesday 11 March 2008

PFI...MotoGp...Toseland...

It was a damp track we qualified on, at Pfi, which was misleading as the race was to show, and we qualified 6th...The CAP did the first half, on a drying circuit, attacking early to get heat in the tyres, the first clue that things were`nt right... it took more laps than usual to warm the tyres, and so the kart felt nervous particularly in the chicane, did the stops early to keep the heat in the tyres, but there was understeer everywhere, and at the close of the stint we lay in 5th.... That much underrated talent, the SPEEDICHIC, took over, and despite her best efforts she was frustrated to find that she could barely get into the 54`s..for someone accustomed to low 52`s , ouch!! We both had our scary moments with inexperienced backmarkers doing their best, badly! but one guy caught out the SPEEDICHIC, and she hit the barrier hard, and had to retire to the pits, her neck sore, where a dozy CAP was`nt ready!!!.... we finished 6th, but that was a poor kart by Pfi Standards.
The MotoGp was ace, a proper race at the front, Stoner took awhile to get to the front, and you thought, game over! but the cheeky, dogged, Lorenzo was`nt having that, and harried him in all but the last coupla laps, just behind was Pedroza,Rossi,Dovisioso,Toseland, and Edwards, all looking for that final podium... The TOSELAND got 6th, an amazing effort on his debut... keep it up James!!!

Sunday 9 March 2008

...And The Lights ...

...GO ON!! ......Toseland shines brighter than all the luminaires, `cos it was his night at Losail, for over 30 minutes he not only had pole, but the track record as well!! Only another rookie, Lorenzo, was faster, and we are talking microseconds here! Both riders were on Yamahas, and quallie Michelins, so the race will be different, however, a little more good fortune, could see a podium, which, with the history of failed Superbike riders who have moved into the GP class, would on its own be a helluva achievement. It is the debut MotoGP for both these guys, and they are trailed by 3 world champions including the current one, fan..fucking..tastic!!

Another great achievement was in the 125cc class with another englishman, Bradley Smith, taking pole, they all said the track changed as the night wears on, with significant track temperature changes, and a heavy dew, so an inspired strategy by Toselands team to place him on track, with a quali tyre, prior to these changes, was crucial as his, and Lorenzo`s lap times reveal. The race is on!!..... around 8pm uk time......Yea Baby!!!

Thursday 6 March 2008

The Sun Goes Down in Losail.......

And the bikes of the Moto Gp roar back into action....!!The Qatar circuit will be alive with hi-performance 4-stokes on Saturday with a small power station, several hundred hi-power lamps to provide enough light for Moto gp racing at night. As we Slickegos, with our many, many (ok, two..) night races, know this could be a thrilling race for fans, and non-fans alike!!

Bonus for the English, James Toseland is the fastest man in testing!! It would be perfect if he can pull off a podium, in his debut race.....I`m getting emotional, just thinking about that.....

So guys, pull up a chair Saturday... place the beer fridge just so.... prepare your best scream, for the silly bastard who interrupts........Yea Baby!!!

Sunday 24 February 2008

Bring it on!

All types of series are revving up for what is again going to be a year of world wide conflict. From the likes of F1 to Moto GP and down to the lonely club racing, rivalries will be united once more!!! Mwahahahaha ( like the madness dont you )

Its true though and being the master of duels, i shall explain some of the years biggest clashes to be:

Audi v Peugeot at THE 24 Hours
Audi v Porsche if Audi decide to race in ALMS this year
Audi v Peugeot in the LMS

Let the Season commence......

Today, the motor racing season gets well under way, with the first round of the World Superbike season,@ The Losail circuit in Qatar, no British riders this season, but the enigmatic Max Biaggi, a legend to some, is one to watch, and my personal favourite, the `dogs borrocks' himself, Noriyuki Haga, he is my tip for the championship..............Yea Baby!!

Moto Gp...Oz...Silverstone....

This weekend see`s the last of the official tests@jerez prior to the season opener at Losail, this test has a twist tho`, for 40 minutes the racers have a mini timed session, and the fastest guy gets a top of the range BMW......nice.......Eurosport will be running it...
The Oz Gp has an issue regarding funding... not that they have`nt any, but that the venture(read vulture) capitalist group, who co-own F1, have a mouth-wateringly, HUGE, debt to pay to the Royal bank of Scotland, this ,in turn, translates to asking for more money from the organisers of Gp`s, and as the taxpayers in Oz will tell you, `it`s not cheap mate!' AND said vultures want it to be a night race so the wusses in Europe can have a lie-in, cue the greens....
This kind of upsets the guys at Silverstone... they have just got planning permission to develop the circuit even further...... upgrade the pits..... spend oodles of money with the local builder( I just re-located) because the vultures want ALL the circuits to coughlin up, and threaten to go elsewhere if they don`t!!
So, in the parts of the world where the audience at a Gp is zero,... emissions control is way down on the `things to do, list',... expect to see more government-funded circuits to be built, and audiences frog-marched to their seats, told when to mexican wave..... If they had cut the costs sensibly in F1 years ago, built tunnels at circuits.... instead of wind tunnels...(we don`t need to drive on the tunnel ceiling) stuck to racing with drivers who had no electrickery, then, maybe we would`nt be looking at a balance sheet dictating the future of the sport, and maybe hearts would rule.....

I speak!

It's been a while since i last was in touch but i do try. Big inspection on Thursday so looks like 2 hours sleep again tomorrow, but what the heck.

F1 testing is doin the usual topsy-turvy pre-season thing.

The Le Mans Series is going to be a galactic battlefield with Audi taking on Peugeot, with a couple of Oreca Courages in the mix and a spicy bunch of Lola's. GT1 field a bit disapointing but GT2 makes up for it.

FIA GT gains multiple champions Labre Competition with a brand new saleen and they are guranteed to be a pain in the maseratis arse! ( Good )

ALMS is again a smouldering crater with the Penske Porsche under-dogs taking on the big gun Audi's. Corvette once again will be chasing their own tails in an empty GT1 Category. GT2 will be interesting as the Porsche teams no doubt will have closed on the excellent Ferrari and dont expect the Lizard team to play cleanly with Risi team after last years Sebring climax.

British Motorsport is once again the place to be as the civil war in BTCC, F3, Brit GT and various other club racing. And it WILL take more than severe burns, 3 Vauxhalls and a host of maniacs to stop that man Plato getting his determined hands on the title!!!

No Sex.......

It was quoted in last weeks Autosport by, no less than Bernie himself, that , `while Ron (Dennis) is a great friend of mine, he was six months pregnant, while still claiming to be a virgin' !

That, Ron mate, is definitely worth a court action, you, a virgin, AND a friend? ask for damages around the 100 mil mark, and best have the case heard somewhere neutral, France, or Italy maybe.........

Withdrawl Symptoms!!

Not long to go - 35 Days, 8 Hours, 43 minutes and 1 second - before the Oz GP!

Fools....

It`s a classic..... the spanish passion for motorsport cannot be denied, however, slagging off looie-looie, has to be a little off the scale, when testing!!! If these are fans , I wipe my arse with a brick!! I hope this does`nt continue.... if it does then a 100mil fine is in order... Yea Baby!

Flavio says Renault drivers equal!!

Bring it on - Mardy Pants Pansy Alonso.
"Flavio Briatore has denied that Fernando Alonso has unequivable number one status in the Renault team in 2008, despite saying that he expects rookie Nelsinho Piquet to learn from the double world champion this year."

No Precipitation.....

Was the hope for PFI, and so it was.....After spending sat night with Speedy at PPIK, using new karts that already appear old, the cap was off to Lincolnshire, pre-dawn, to sample Pfi for the first time in `08. What I like to think are the hardier of the regulars turned up, with some new faces, just to add to the mix. After months of racing in the wet, it was a learning curve to get the best out of the karts, fastest lap on the short circuit, 52.02, not amazing by the standards of the front runners, tho`it was a pleasure to be going quickly again! For the second race Adi opened the extended circuit, and as no one owned up to using it before, no-one knew what to expect......
It is at the fastest part of the circuit, where instead of switching left into the short parabolica, the track tightens right, it favours a slower entry....guess what everyone was doing.....More karts were off than on.....those who did a decent job of it were punted off/out by the ones who did`nt, one guy, on his first visit became the official lawnmower and just as he was getting used to the track on his first race, they extended the track!! poor sod,...so it took a while to settle,... in the end the results were largely the same as allways, but hey, it did`nt rain.....................Yea Baby!!

GET OVER IT!!! GO UNDER UNDER IT!!!

Firstly, somebody needs to drop this whole F1 spy thingy-majig and try focusing on watching paint dry instead. THE END.

Going under the bridge, flat out ( SERIOUSLY FLAT OUT ), 5 in the train, pushing the envelope, lap after lap...
...somethings got to give...
turns out the poor unfortunate sod would be me. Cheers Danny!!! Great Fun though and something that i will miss most of all in the coming 4 wks. :(

Pasture new......

That well-known, back stabber, Nigel Stepney has proclaimed that he had no idea that his missapropriation of the plans for the new ladies toilet block at Ferrari motor homes, and gay bars incorporated, would "cause so much trouble", has found new employment......You would think that given his past record for being a top spy ringleader that the CIA would be looking at him for the CEO`s job, or at the very least, a french bank looking for someone to look after their money.... But no, he is a new director of Gigawave, yes, a team that is running a couple of Astons in the sportscar world, Were I Ron Dennis, Iwould have my lawyers chasing him for every penny he owns....... In a normal world we would have been caned mighty hard, for the kind of actions which led to the farce that was last years championship....you can contact Nigel at his new HQ in Morley high street....On a lighter note, Iread in Autosport that a guy actually boasted that he had a personal collection of around 25,000 pics of Ferrari personnel, this is deep sadness.....apparently he`s a dear personal friend of another balanced , and un biased Ferrari fan who lives in North Leeds .......

Helmet of Heikki Kovalainen

Just a reminder that as McLaren scored 0 constructors points last season they have the last numbers. I found this picture of Heikki's helmet, stating he is going to be number 23. Which would mean 22 is now our lucky hammy number!

The gullible sod that I am just looked that up! If only! I wish.

Dario Fanchitti quitting Indy for a trip to Nascar.

Ralf Schum is linked with a possible DTM drive.

And as for Andy Priaulx’s postage stamps – fantastic – its about time he got some recognition.

Its Wet.......

Out there, but for some there are a few rays of sunshine...... Andy Priaulx has had a new set of postage stamps printed, to commemorate his achievments, by permission of the Queen...Montoya has been quoted as saying "schui is a nobody!!" after laughing at the offer of a drive with Toro Rosso.....Gary Paffet is having to make hard choices, should he stay as a tester for Mclaren, or should he focus on the DTM???... It`s odd, the least ACTUAL racing takes place in F1, that we as armchair enthusiasts see anyway, yet there are guys who will sell their souls to the devil, to be a RACING driver in F1, I can only draw the conclusion that, the Ecclestone circus, is a bit like the glamour of being an airline steward.... looks great in the brochures, but once you get there, your just part of the show....Rumours abound that some of the most famous names in motorsport are about to be bought by global giants, if this trend continues, will the names of Mclaren, Williams et al, be as lost as Tyrell, Jordan.......And does it mean that no longer will the entrepeneurial individuals such as Stoddart, Jordan, Minardi, be able to afford to set up a team....and does it mean that when the global chess players lose their pawns to market forces, and Ecclestone dies, that the show called F1 will disintegrate up its own arse...... ????
Yea Baby!!
PS; As a name.....Force India?? Hardly rocks my boat!!

My next racing car and road car

A Ferocious Mazda Concept
What a beauty!! I'll have to upgrade the Rollerskate!
"Inspired by the fact that on any given weekend, there are more Mazdas and Mazda-powered cars road-raced in the U.S. than any other brand, the Furai (Japanese for “sound of the wind” and pronounced “foo-rye”) with its rotary engine makes a great deal of sense. The car runs on ethanol produced in partnership with BP."

Autosport 2008

Despite my sceptiscism about sat-nav the new Tom Tom said "you have arrived at your destination" in the carpark nearest the main halls, this turned out to be significant, later......

As usual we got there early, and had a good, (read expensive) breakfast, that was the last I saw of the boys for the next 8/9 hrs..... the range of halls is vast, and you need your energy just for the walking....exhibits from all walks of motoring, and motorsport are spread out over these huge halls, with the 'Piston heads' show having a hall all of it's own...there are massive displays from manufacturers, showing their motorsport connections, prodrive, seat,vw/audi et al.....a smorgasbord of all things yummy on four wheels, and two...Highlights for me was the display of all the mitsubishi evos from the original to the latest incarnation, a long display of white? evos...the demonstration of a porsche on a rolling road hitting 450bhp at 60mph using a new fuel....the dream car...Aston Martins were every exhibitors favorite, static display choice, whether it was for car wax or insurance, followed by Lamborghini,s of all types, this is trade days, and sales are very important!! I spent a happy hour or so watching rubber, and fossil fuels burn in the live action arena, a 9 plus, litre dragster was impressive..with a helluva display from v8 stock cars...the karting area was a little bare, this is where things get ominous.....on the sodi stand they had an electric kart!! aaaaarrrrggghhh!! 10 min racing 10 min charging!! but this was reflected throughout the show..everywhere were attempts to show green credentials, as if the show was trying to prove it was going down the eco path...bear in mind this is a trade day, and the people there LOVE motor racing!! Just to hammer home that point I wandered over to the karting arena, as I drank my coffee (yes guys I had my flask), leaning against the barrier... I became aware I had co...........in the form of David Brabham, Jonny Herbert, Darren Turner, Fiona Leggate, Gil de Ferran, Alan McNish, Louise Goodman.....Sky TV...and me...( with no make-up on) they were all taking part in a charity kart race, it was a great couple of hours watching how it should be done, and seeing how dirty all these heroes could be!!! this was near the end of the show, but a final mention is to Olivia Davies, whose little booth in a corner of a hall, held some inspirational art, all based on racing, she was a pleasure to talk to, and I would have purchased a piece if the jaw-dropping £5,500, was'nt out of my range!!! I hooked up with the guys, and we walked outside to a BLIZZARD! I was so glad Tom parked me so near, a hard drive home, in shit vis, I was grateful for the passengers, as the weight kept the car stable...

Yea Baby!!
